Nautical Needlepoint Malestrom Sketch

My creativity yesterday is a drawing that has been floating in my head for a week or so now. A round needlepoint left in the hoop for hanging and display. In the center is an anchor and the water spirals outwards suggesting waves and maybe even a sailboat on the outer edge.

Malestrom Sketch

Something about the mechanicals of putting it on to paper always changes my mental sketches. The pencil has revealed more of a conch shell spiral that I like, Fibonacci-esque. This might get cleaned up before I take needle to fabric BUT Ive been free-handing it lately and really liking the results. Since I already have an idea, I might just go for it!
