Shipping… Root Beer Float Cookies

I’m taking a chance and mailing out some of my Root Beer Float Cookies to a sick friend.

I know the mail truck might be too hot and the frosting might melt off.

Or the package bandit may strike again and steal the 3rd box from my friend’s apartment door.

But I have to try! And it was a perfect excuse to buy a box of Lofthouse cookies, for the container of course!

  • I packed up a few cookies with just glaze and a couple with frosting.
  • Stuck them in the fridge over night.
  • Made a cute label with some awesome bark wrapping paper I found at TJ Maxx.
  • Wrapped them up in an insulated bag with an ice pack on top.
  • And shipped them out express!

An update: Shipping Success!!!

The cookies made it UNmelted and only slight smooshed!

Total transit time: 7am packaged, 8am dropped, Received 6pm next day = 35 hrs with an ice pack in mid-70 degree weather.

The cookies made it beautifully! I’ve updated the original post with pictures from the other end. 🙂

They did great! Much better than the chocolate-covered cherries I tried to ship last fall . . .
