Sketching… Steampunk Style

A spare minute and an idea led to this lil’ industrial pencil sketch. I usually use reference photos as I go along, but my internet was down so I just went from memory.

Elements include: Adjustable honed blade with nut & bolt, rivets, welds, expanded metal, gears (which I am now realizing are not engineered right), drive shaft and belt, tracks, with some digital-esq text and a date stamp.

Working in a printing office, I have access to a seemingly infinite supply of paper scraps. I keep a stack of 3.5″ x 2″ business card blanks on my desk for notes and these occasional burst of sketchy creativity.
