Creating… Zebra Birthday Cake

My Father-in-law’s birthday cake was a hit… even if it did have pink frosting (he likes strawberry) and zebra stripes (marble was requested)!

5″ layers marbled with the zebra method (drop alternating spoonfulls of chocolate and vanilla batter in the center and allow to spread)

Layered with butter cream frosting mixed with strained strawberry jelly (this is heaven!)

I should have whipped the white buttercream more – it was super heavy and applied like sheet rock compound, therefore causing the little cake to move all over the place as I’m trying to make it look pretty!

I took leftovers to my friend’s house and it was a hit there too! Whoot!

And for his present, I made cupcake sized chocolate cheesecakes for the freezer so he can have a sweet treat whenever he wants!

I like how you made the zebra pattern, keen to give it a go myself. 🙂
