Creating… a foldable magic cube birthday card

Any birthday in my family and friend circle calls for fun! This time it was my sister and I needed a cute card to go with her cute present.

My husband had just returned from a boring conference and brought with him some promotional items, among them a magic folding cube calendar – ZING!

With rubber cement and some super shiny paper, I covered half the sides and added my greeting. Then I carefully folded it up to look like a boring calendar with her birthday highlighted with a heart. Into the box it goes with February on top!

This is absolutely incredible. My husband would love this! I’ve bookmarked it for his birthday 🙂 Thanks!

I have been trying very hard to make one of these! I have the cube’s assembly mastered. But attaching my photos to the wood blocks is entirely another story! I mod-Podged the printed photos to the wood blocks, but after I ger them all stuck on, the cube no longer folds tightly. Any secrets??

Creasing and scoring the folds might help but the mod podge adds so much more “height” to the squares that they can no longer fit tightly. Good luck!
